Just a quick post tonight, well a vent actually. Do kids ever turn lights or tv’s off? Regular readers will know about my ongoing battle with the utility costs, however I’m convinced that when the older two go to university in September our electricity bills will be halved! They seem incapable of using the off switch despite my constant nagging:)
Anyway I’m looking at switching suppliers tonight as Martin Lewis of Money Saving Expert says that the time has come to switch.
Energyline are currently offering £15 cashback if you switch through them and Moneysupermarket is paying £30 for a dual fuel switch. Be careful though as some companies haven’t put their prices up yet and could do in the near future.

When my son left home, my annual electricity bill dropped buy over £100 as his computer wasn’t running day and night.
When he came back, while he didn’t switch the computers off he did make a point of switching off the monitors (he had 2 computers and 3 monitors when he came back, only one computer and 2 monitors before he left!) and as he was then paying his share of the bill we were both happy.
I think you will see a difference

Consider using a cashback site such as Quidco, Money Back madness or Free Fivers. When you take out a new insurance policy, change energy suppliers or bank accounts etc and you go through their site you may be abl eto get some money back. I have made a huge amount of money from this sort of company and it all helps towards paying of fthat mortgage.
