One of my priorities in 2009 was to build up my food stockpile. I may have gone about this a different way, as during January I’ve been using up all the food in our cupboards, however I wanted a fresh start, I wanted to build up a store cupboard of useful and used products/ingredients only.
I plan to start stocking up on supermarket offers/loss leaders every week until I’m happy with what I have. This will mean that I need to increase my grocery budget for a while and that I also find somewhere to store it all. I may have to re task a cupboard!

Hello Laura
Stockpiling is a great idea with one drawback for me.
We live out of the pantry but I forget to look for the same goods on special to replace the ones we used lol
Like many others I need to find some way of reminding myself to buy and not think about it at the last minute and have to pay full price
Take care
Cathy

Hmmm….I hadn’t even considered stockpiling, but after reading those couple of posts you linked to, it makes a lot of sense.

Oh, I like the stock piling idea! I wish I could do it, but we severly lack pantry space. Hmmm… how I can make this work. Don’t you love down-to-earth’s stockpiling containers?
Although, if I organized the cupboards and moved all the pasta in jars… I may just have more room.
BTW, love the new layout!
