……when the sun is shining and I’m feeling low I could just book a weekend trip and forget frugal living, saving and paying off debt. All it takes is a couple of clicks and I’m on my way…then my willpower kicks in!
What do you think ft? Good idea

The sun is shining soooooo beautifully here in the UK at the moment that I think you should just pack up a tent, head to the hills and enjoy a cheap break! Then all will be good and you don’t have to feel bad
Wait for me… I just through my tent in the car! Can I drive it oversees?
But, I know what you mean… so hard to stay mentally on track and so easy to rack it up. But, keep up the good work. You have come so far!
I know what you mean — sometimes mini weekend (financially planned) getaways can help us stay motivated though!
I just spent a bloody lovely weekend catching up with my girlfriends in London. For me, I blew the budget, but compared to going to NYC, I really didnt. I had 2 meals out. and bought myself a teeshirt. Oh and a bottle of wine to take to my hostesses. So while it really felt like a splurge, with all that holiday feeling – eating out – and having a glass of champagne or wine while I did it – not something I do as a rule!! But y’know, I ate girly food. I had the salad. And not the steak plus extras! I looked and drooled in Brora but bought the teeshirt in the shop opposite. What I am saying is, go for the weekend break. Drool over NYC and then go to – I dunno – Bath or Bristol, or somewhere where some great friends live. And treat yourself. Not in Brora (£350 for a cardigan anyone?) but in the (still very nice and totally not primark) tee shirt shop opposite!!
Hi all and thank you for your support x
You’re all right, I need to have a little break. It’s tiredness I know it is. I’m going to take a weekend off, the week after next and go to London to stay with my oldest daughter..free accomodation and London flower markets
.
Thank you again
If you ever do decide to visit our beautiful city (and it’s so lovely in the spring… when it’s not raining), there are definitely ways to thoroughly enjoy yourself AND be frugal. But then again, that is our life. =) In the meantime, enjoy your weekend in London!
hi jc and welcome over here
thank you, your city is beautiful to me even in February when its freezing cold!
Ha – I know this feeling all too well! I’m looking forward to my UK holiday later this year but it doesn’t mean my passport isn’t calling to me…
ha ha, I’m in. I can never never never say no to NYC. I think I was meant to be born there…!
