I make mine with milk and water. I then serve with a sprinkle of sugar on top. Simple.

What about you, how do you like yours?

Been a porridge fan for years. I have mine with water. I seem to have a real problem with dairy products these days, and have been so much better since I came off them.

Occasionally I have soft brown sugar on top, but mostly I have a sliced banana, or raisins or sultanas. After a run and a hot bath, it’s sheer luxury to eat my porridge whilst watching BBC Breakfast.

Without sugar but with caramel or vanilla.
The best : with cherries or berries.

Not usually a huge porridge fan but once someone made some and stirred in a berry compote. That was delicious!

I like it made with water and with a small spoonful of golden syrup stirrred in. I don’t have it very often as I find it doesn’t keep me from feeling hungry for long (despite the fact that nutritioninst say it releases energy slowly and keeps you fuller for longer!).

I make mine with half water and half coconut milk and it’s absolutely scrumptious! I do love a big bowl of porridge and sometimes some toasted hazlenuts on top are a great addition too!

What are the basic ingredients of porridge? I think it is the same dish that we call “oatmeal” in the US, but I’m not certain of that.

I actually like mine as Oat Bran. I think porridge is what we call oat meal in the US. I prefer oat bran – so delicious and so good for you. I love ti with raw honey or cinnamon, or bits of apples and raisins… yumm..

Always cooked with milk, a little sugar, lots of cinnamon, sometimes some coconut, or nuts. Sometime some flax seed just for extra health.. my kids all like it this way also. And yes thats the way my mother made it.. Only sometimes she adds jelly (yuck) or even Nutella (yum) :)

I have mine like Kris. Mashed banana and cinnamon, or mashed pie apple (from a can) with cinnamon.
