Paris In March

in travel

A couple of weeks ago hubby and I were very lucky to spend two days and two nights in Paris. I’ve not been for over twenty years and hubby has never been, but we both loved it; here’s a quick rundown of our trip.

We stayed in the Trocadero area, with the Eiffel Tower was just around the corner; we didn’t get to go up it, but did get to see it lots; it looks beautiful when it’s lit up in the evenings. {It’s a this point that people who can take a good photo would be showing you, but….}  We tried to visit the Pompidou Centre, but as soon as we approached the entrance, after queuing for 90 minutes, it was closed due to a bomb scare, d’oh; we took ourselves off to the Louvre instead, which was lovely, and much bigger than I realised!

We did lots and lots of walking, especially around Le Marais, my favourite area, and Monmartre, which was very busy, but worth it for the beautiful view and Sacre Coeur.

Transport wise we found the Paris Metro easy to use and fairly cheap compared to London, although in general I did find Paris very expensive; I probably should have done a little more research before going!

All in all it was a lovely trip and we will definitely be returning in the future; two full days was nowhere near enough time.

What a lovely experience!

I haven’t been there in more than 20 years. When I lived in the London, it was easy to pop over for a few days in Paris.

(Sigh!)

thanks non consumer; I’m not sure why it took me so long to go back, it’s only 50 minutes by air!

Despite my travels around the world, I’ve never ever been to Paris, and hubby’s never been to France at all. Must add it to my ‘to visit’ list – sounds fab!
