How about St Michael's Mount in Marazion, Cornwall? Is there anything more romantic than a good old English castle perched on its very own island? One of the few locations that are just as good with a bit of atmospheric mist as it is in the sunshine!

If you make the trip up to Edinburgh you should also try to get out into the Scottish countryside. Aviemore is a particular favourite for beautiful walks.

I would highly recommend the Isle of Wight, but with ferry costs being the highest travel cost per mile ANYWHERE, you might want to save it for the day when 5 plus the bonus ball comes your way!

Well if you come to Brighton let me know! We could meet up! Or at the very least I could give you the tip top insider low down on my fave spots etc. I would also add Southwold or Aldeburgh in Suffolk. Beautiful places both. And you could stay at my folks holiday cottage if you went there (see www.chestnuttstudios.co.uk) Other than that, the Lake District is pretty spectacular - stay at Ambleside - its really central and pretty in itself too.
