Hello everybody
Where did the last ten days go? I’m so behind on my posting!
I’m in full scale ‘reducing my belongings mode’ as simplyfing of my clothing is quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever done. I feel constantly relieved, if that’s the right word, by the results of my clear out and now I’m turning my thoughts to being as radical with everything else. Doing this also makes me feel like I’m making progress towards our move to Portugal; the last thing we need is to take loads of stuff with us.
As I’m trying to be organised and stick to a schedule, here’s a list of posts coming up in the next few days
- Grocery spending update
- Simplifying our bank accounts and direct debits
- Mortgage Update
- Rent or Sell?
- Home Inventory: Listing our possessions
- Long Term Goals Update
- 2009 Progress
- Extra Money Earned Challenge Update

You’re an inspiration – I’m looking in my closet for things I can get rid of. It’s amazing how you can turn stuff you never wear (and honestly, can’t believe you ever bought) into money. I don’t think I can get as minimalist as you have, but its nice to dream.

Hi The Lost Goat, and thank you. I often wonder how many things I’ve bought over the years and never worn; it’s frightening!!

You inspired me to ruthlessly clear out the closets in our home. As a result, my daughter has purged THREE large garbage bags of clothing, my son has purged 2, and hubby and I have purged 3. We donated all of them to our church for their annual rummage sale. We could have sold them at a yard sale but we decided it was a good thing to just give it to the church. We have so much more room in our closets!! Yay!

It’s so refreshing to hear what a positive impact decluttering has had for you!!!
I do love decluttering but my vice is that I go and find new things to clutter the empty space with
Not so great!

I’ll look forward to reading your upcoming blogs!
I’m doing some decluttering at the moment too – OH will have a few weeks free soon and has promised to do some decorating! Do you find that you get a bit panicky when you throw things away? I do, but once I see less clutter I also feel relieved!
