Before I post my mini goals for March, here’s an update of how it went in February.
- Commit to and stick to Sharon’s no spend challenge – just about!
- Save at least 50% of all our net income – yes
- Spend no more than £230 on grocery – spent £276.14
- Lose at least 4lbs – BIG fail zero lbs lost
- Walk more than 2 miles x 8 – BIG fail
- Gloss paint the inside of our back door – Yes
- Gloss paint all the skirting board in the dining room – No but did the whole breakfast/kitchen
All in all a good month…..but I do need to get back on the weight loss thing as I seem to have reached a plateau!
The lack of council tax and water monthly payments in February, as well as the side income that I made from my sites, meant that we were able to increase our savings rate; hopefully we can do the same in March as we want to buy the much needed new windows for the front of our house.
Onto my goals for March;
- Save at least 50% of all our net income
- Spend no more than £230 on grocery
- Lose 4lbs
- Complete the bathroom decoration

Hey again!
I think it’s great that you set yourself monthly goals – you’ve inspired me to start doing the same.
Me and my partner are working on a number of different things at the moment, and having them broken down into little monthly goals will make them seem that much more achievable, so thanks for highlighting this with your post!!
Something I thought I’d mention is to do with your weight loss goal – perhaps you could think about a different technique to lose the weight you want to.
I’ve found a new fitness technique that my partner is currently doing, and I thought it might be of interest to you – come take a look at a recent blog post I put up about it and perhaps it can inspire you to try it – http://bit.ly/gEXC24
Anyhoo, good luck with your goals for March!

Thanks Mike. I find the mini goals focus my thinking..I used to spend too long thinking about the big, long term stuff, now it’s more about short term progress..much better. Seen your goals..good luck with them!

Hi Karen. I’m a member of Livestrong and will update my food intake until lunchtime and then stop! When I record my calories I stick to my diet. I need to get back my control.
Good luck this month
