Little savings

in frugal living

As you all know, or perhaps you don’t, we still have a Sky TV subscription which is very non frugal*. We are currently paying £38 a month for the Sky Sports + family pack package and this is due to rise to £40 a month on September 1st. What I didn’t realise, until I visited the Sky website, is that the family pack is made up of 6 viewing mixes and we actually only want 2 of the mixes.
Reducing our package will save us £3 a month. Not much but still £36 for the year and it also means that the Sky bill for the next 12 months (£37 from 1st September) is less than the 12 months just gone. Now if I can do this with the Gas and Electric bills I’ll be really happy!

*My husband will do anything to pay off this mortgage and achieve our dreams, but if he has to do it without the luxury of his sports channels, then it wouldn’t be happening anyway. I feel the same about an Internet connection, we can easily live without these things, but we have no reason to.

Every little helps.. but you also have to keep some little things.. for me it’s the same – Sky and the internet connection! Though we’re on a two mix combo and no sports or movies!
