It’s so important to learn the language of the natives. So many people move abroad but expect others to accommodate them without being willing to ‘put themselves out’ at all. I bet those same people would be the first to complain about those who come to live here and don’t bother with the language etc.

Good luck with the portuguese lessons.
I have strugled to find any courses in my area so still using the cd’s etc.
I hope to flee to portugal one day myself.
Already got the house just need the freedom but I don,t think I could make the sacrifices (frugal living) that you do.

very cool! You could tape up vocabulary words in little places around the house where he can see them. Little reminders each time of the big goal ahead.

i intend to learn as well since i am a pork chop myself but i dont think there is any classes around where i live

Boa sorte. Portuguese isn’t too difficult. I learned as an exchange student in Brazil. But learning spanish helped a lot, if you have that option. Good luck.

Hi j1mbo thanks for asking, but no not yet – he started begin. of Oct. and there was a 4 week break over Christmas so he still has a few weeks to go, but it is going well and I find with testing him I’m picking up a bit as well.
