Every new year without fail I have a mad idea to clean and de-clutter every single bit of my house. And I mean every bit. I make a very (very) long list and slowly work my way through it.
I’ll usually get about half way before throwing in the towel, and I never quite get to certain jobs. Like extractor fan cleaning for example, which always seems to get left! (Well life is to short isn’t it!?) But it’s not too short apparently (if you’re me), to organise your cutlery drawers! Hmmm. I know, I need to get out more!
Anyway I present two of the three drawers that I have in my tiny kitchen, all clean and tidy.

That’s all I have! Can you tell I’m not a cook?

All back in.

Pots and pans (steamer not shown)
And the main reason for this post. There wasn’t anything to de-clutter! I’m making progress people

Gorgeous! And honestly, if you ever decide TO cook more, there’s not much more that you might need besides good quality pots and pans, a spatula, a wooden spoon, a whisk, and a grater – and you have all of that! Great photos, too.

Hi Rayna
For the odd time that I do need to rustle up a nice meal I have everything I need. I’m going to explore my kitchen cupboards a little more over the coming weeks.

Wow! Love those drawers! I’m not a cook but I have heaps more stuff than that as my daughter likes to cook sometimes. I’d like to get rid of a lot of it but she won’t let me as she says it’s all useful! (Maybe I should throw it all into her messy bedroom lol)

I did have a lot of stuff but have slowly given it away – I love being able to find everything I need without digging through the drawers.

You may not be a big cook but at least you have the most essential item – wine bottle opener!

I came full circle on kitchen stuff…I love to cook, but there are so many useless gadgets out there. You don’t need a rice cooker if you have a pot. You don’t need a breadmaker if you have an oven (and by the way my hearth baked bread comes out way better than any breadmaker can do). You don’t need fancy chopping devices if you have a good knife and cutting board.
You are hard core though…I don’t even see a potato peeler in your kit. I thought you brits ate them every day..

Hmmm perhaps you could hire yourself out and get paid to declutter OTHER peoples homes! I love that your corkscrew has its own spot in your cutlery holder:)

A long time ago I used to do that, not now though – it would be my perfect job!

I agree with First Gen- you don’t need a bunch of gadgets. We have a small kitchen and try and make double, triple duty with many of our kitchen gadgetry!
