It’s time to set some goals for a new month and review last months; I’ve also added a Mr Linky to the bottom of this post so if you’re posting monthly mini goals on your blog then please link up at the bottom; I’d love to start a monthly goals meme so that we can all encourage each other to stay on track with whatever we’re trying to accomplish
Health: Walking I did, nearly every day, dieting I didn’t, nearly every day! The good news is that I’ve not gained anything, the bad news, I’ve not lost anything either. I need.to.record.my.food.daily. So this will be my goal for July, to keep a thirty one day record of my food intake.
Financials: I feel like we’re treading water at the moment and I’m looking for a job. I did have a job offer but I turned it down as it was almost the same as my last one, and although for a few days I was thinking about the money, it’s sometimes hard not to, I walked away; I don’t regret it. Goals for this month are to ramp up my search for employment, keep our holiday spending in control…we have miss mtp and her friend with us, enough said, and to reach £1,250 in the NY fund.
House: In June I’ve done lots of jobs that needed doing; painted more of the garden fence, made a curtain and glossed skirting boards. In July I want to clean the original tiles in our hallway and finish the never ending garden fence painting.
Personal: Read ‘The Life Audit’ {as recommended by Caroline}, make two new {to me} recipes, go and see Eclipse…although that’s not really a goal as it’s already booked and lastly take a day trip somewhere new {to me} in the UK.

If you stayed the same weight by walking every day, you’re bound to lose if you sort out your diet. Keeping a food diary is a good tool (if you’re honest about what you put in it) and can be quite an eye-opener!
I hope you get lots of interest in your meme. Personally, monthly goals don’t work for me but good luck with yours.

Some great progress there, and thanks for reminding me painting the fence is on my list too!
I think keeping a food diary is a great idea. It really helps. But it’s harder than it seems – it is really tempting to not write things in the diary that you know you shouldn’t have eaten! I caught myself doing that on a number of occasions. The amazing thing is you then try to justify not writing it down to yourself. At least that’s what happened to me – it’s a psychological battle almost. In the end I gave myself a kick up the bum and wrote everything down, and found it very useful. After a while you find that as you subconsciously are going to have to write it down you tend to leave off the naughty stuff. It worked for me. Hope you get some good results with it!

Thanks Teresa and you’re so right; if I could just sort out the food…who would have thought paying off debt would be easier than losing weight!
thanks Tony, I’m almost always better behaved when I’m recording my food intake…lets hope it works…and I can avoid the pastries in Portugal, lol

Hi I love goals, but monthly are not right for me. Usually a daily-weekly list and then long term. But I think goals are magic. Whenever I write a goal, it almost always comes true at some point!! BTW, today is the last day of the catfight. See you for the countdown!! Best, Barb

Thanks for the link, Laura, and good luck with your goals. I won’t join in this time as I’m away until mid July, but count me in for mini goals for August.

At the beginning of the year, I was pretty good about recording my eating habits in a journal. I slacked off and have noticed that I’m not as successful. I might start writing things down again, too. Best wishes this month!
