This month, after successfully completing the kitchen/breakfast room in February, I’m turning my attention to the bathroom. This room really needs painting now, so I’m doing it as much for us, as for future tenants!

To Do List:
- Clean and prepare all surfaces
- Gloss the woodwork
- Emulsion the ceiling
- Emulsion the walls
- Replace the spotlight trims
Future To Do:
- Replace shower head
- Replace shower hose
- Replace shower screen
Our house plays a big part in our financial targets and it feels good to be getting it ready in preparation for next years move.

You’re so lucky that your house is mostly cosmetic work. Every room that needs tending to at my mom’s house is a gut job thanks to it’s age (110 years old).

@First Gen American I feel your pain! When we first moved in we gutted about 80% of the house….the only room that we didn’t have to do was the bathroom, thankfully…living w/o a kitchen for 4 months was not fun, lol.
I do love our house though..the Victorians had house style!

Hi, been following your blog for a while and must say I love your ideas and really enjoy reading your posts. Simple, calm, and a (semi)financially independent life is definitely the way to go. Oh, and by the way I’m portuguese.
Kind regards.
