House Series: Front Door

November 16, 2008

in house projects

I love the front door of our house as it has original glass and the name of the house at the top (my house has a name, how cool), however this space needs something and I’m not sure what.

The outside doesn’t look anywhere near as nice, as the dust created from the main road is embedded in the glass, try as we might, we can’t seem to clean it. Does anyone have any suggestions, for cleaning the glass or for that little (frugal) something this space needs?

I seem to be asking lots of questions today, I think all this walking I’m doing is energising me.

Pretty door – as you say, from the inside anyway – what’s the houses’ name?

love LOVE the door. very cool.
I always love random frames with family photos in hallways or I am a big kid art fan too. But not sure what your family story is so that may not work for you.

LOVE that door! It’s beautiful! I think you need wall art, as you don’t seem to have room for furniture. Also plates from different places you’ve travelled would be nice too. How about one from Portugal? :-)

To be honest, I think the question is more “what would you like to be the first thing you see when you walk through your front door?”

How about painting the hall a contrasting color? Maybe hanging a big family portrait? I don’t know. I stink at home decorating. I LOVE that door! SO cool!

Hey, that door is great! I must admit, I like your hallway as it is. But that probably isn’t the answer for which you are looking!

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

It may seem vain of me to suggest, but how about a mirror? A mirror, maybe with a few hooks for hat/keys/sweater, would be both convenient and affordable, if you browse around for one at thrift stores.
Really, a lovely hallway!
