Sometimes when you have no motivation for certain things (like house projects!), the best thing to do is switch off, don’t think about it, and just do something. So I did!
From this;

to this;

I painted the clothes hooks, even though I’d really like to replace them with this (too expensive right now) beauty, and removed the lovely gold key rack to spray paint it black. It’s going to go back on the other side of the hall and not on the door.
Now I just need to decide if I want to add the wallpaper above the shelf? What do you think? Shall I Orla it?!

Thanks Michelle – it still needs a lot doing to it but I hope to get it done this weekend.

If it were me I would just stick to paint, no wallpaper. It’s amazing that painting everything the ame color makes it look like a custom built shelf!

I still can’t decide so I’m just going to paint it for now – the wallpaper can easily be added at a later date.

Looks great!! Nice & bright!

Looking at it again… Maybe you could alter it with some type of little ball thingy… Or even just replace the hooks with something bright & fun?

Removing the coat hooks would make for a lot of work I think, I’m adding a nice print to the side/wall so it’ll looked a little brighter.

I like the wallpaper but i am thinking it may be blocked by stuff you put on the shelf/in the closet anyway.

You’re probably right Anita! Thank you

I agree with Anita, if you put things on that shelve you won’t be able to see the wallpaper?

Thanks Gill – although I want to keep the space fairly clear in the spirit of ‘de-clutter February’

It’s my favourite ever wallpaper which is far too expensive to waste!

Thanks – the white shelf has made it look so much brighter.

I also agree with Anita and would add that the wallpaper might make the pipes stand out. I love the wallpaper though. If you have any containers on the shelf you could cover them in the wallpaper for a customer container look that would be lovely.

That’s a good idea Juhli – it would tie the hall in nicely with the adjoining breakfast room which has a wall of that wallpaper
