I’m so psyched about 2011 and have a feeling that it’s going to be a great year; I’m not the only one, Kat is feeling it too.
We [hubby and I] started to think about and plan our 2011 financial goals at the beginning of November, quite early, however we did this for a reason: we wanted to hit the ground running and not waste any time.
I love our money talks, mainly because they involve our travel plans and moving abroad, more than they do money. We discuss our plans and goals first, this gets us all fired up, then we discuss the financial parts. Doing it this way keeps us motivated.
Our plans for next year involve spending consciously, I’m going for a 100% strike rate, continuing with a cash budgeting system, paying down the mortgage, saving for our move to Portugal and fully funding our New York trip fund. We’re going for it!

I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately and I think this is exactly what I’m missing, a new and exciting goal to get me motivated again. I need a countdown to some big thing or financial goal.

Hi Sandy: I know what you mean about being in a funk…It really helps me to have something big to focus on and a new year is a perfect time to get re-energised

HI Laura
I’m psyched up about 2011 as well! I decided that my theme for the year would be ‘frugal’ but now I’ve translated that to ‘free’! I intend to make it a really good year financially so that i will be ‘free’ of debt and ‘free’ of the need to work full time.
I am really looking forward to it, it’s going to be a great year!

Judy: being ‘free’ sounds like a wonderful idea; Good luck!
