To me simple living is exactly what it says, simple; not complicated. Everything you do should be stress free and simple. Your daily food, your finances, your relationships, your holidays, even your email system, should be easy and simple.

I’ve lost my way a little lately and I need to re focus on the basics of what I’m trying to achieve; which is definitely not working 12 hour days, eating microwaved ready meals and being awake most of the night.

As part of my re focus on getting the basics right, I’m starting with food. Despite blogging about how I’m going to lose weight, take exercise and get healthy, none of it is happening. I’m run down, tired and overweight. There are no excuses. I need to start taking care of myself. Todays goal is to do a simple menu plan that can help me on my way.

I have such a long way to go in so many areas, and I’m not sure that it’s possible to fix it all at once, I think you just need to work on it bit by bit and not lose sight of the end goal.

Hi Laura – have missed your regular posts – hate it when life gets in the way of blogging, don’t you?!! I definitely think it’s easier to work on one thing at a time, funnily enough, I did a post saying much the same thing only yesterday. It’s just too difficult to try and get everything right at once. When we get back from our holiday in September, my focus is definitely going to be on my weight (well, on losing it, hopefully!).

Hope things work-wise start to slow down a bit for you soon – is there a light at the end of the tunnel at all?

Hi Caroline, thank you for your kind words. My focus definitely needs to be on weight, I don’t fancy lugging all this around in a hotter climate ;)

Work wise I have one more week to go and then a two week holiday. Things should be a little easier then; my company, like any other, is doing what it needs to do to survive the recession. The main problem is the same amount of work with fewer to do it!
