in frugal living

  1. We’ve been approved for our new mortgage deal, it seems to have taken ages. We won’t be drawing it down until June but at least its in place.
  2. We had the woodworm in the roof treated on Friday at a cost of £269 + vat. Its got a 30 year guarantee attached so hopefully this will be the end of it.
  3. The Council Tax bill arrived, an increase of £6 a month on last year, an annual extra cost £60 so I will need to adjust the budget slightly.

How does the new mortgage deal affect you? Will you be saving any money?

Hi exe, no the new mortgage is more expensive but is the best we could get in the current climate.

Our 4.94% two year fixed rate deal is coming to an end so we had no choice.

Just had my council tax and water bills bills too – both up from last year nevermind the gas and electricity!
I noticed in another post you said about having fun paying off your mortgage – I feel like that with my own debts. Luckily I don’t have any massive debt but I love the feeling watching those figures go down and my savings go up :-)
