Here’s an interesting article from the Guardian online:
It breaks down the individual cost of things you do in the home that affect your energy bill. It’s eye opening. I’m still reeling from the 73p cost to make two slices of toast. Bread and jam from now on in our house.
Oops it says 0.73, thank you for pointing that out! -That’s what happens when you rush to post before going to work in the mornings. I’m glad I was wrong as 73p seemed as awful lot.

I just nipped over to take a look at that link and I think you’ll find it costs .73p rather than 73p to toast two slices of bread. Not quite as bad as you thought
What really shocked me is that taking a bath uses more energy than running a full wash cycle at 40c! Oh, how I need to get a shower installed!

Morning – ooh – afternoon – am procrastinating on your blog
Actually, I think it is .73 pence rather than 73 pence – at least I hope so!
I’m seriously considering buying a Remoska, having read such good things about them (cooking wise and energy wise) on blogs and on the MSE forum.
OK – back to work!

the best thing was I spent all day thinking about that 73p! lol
I’m on a mission with the kids leaving their tv’s on overnight.
If I’ve worked it out correctly
4.16p per half hour for 7 hours is 58.24p a night – add that up over the month and its adding loads to the electric bill –
Please tell me I’m right this time and not done it wrong again
