I’ve made quite a few jokes about my cooking skills on this site…..with good cause. Up until 5 years ago my ability to cook oven chips was second to none and I could just about rustle up a roast dinner or a bolognese, but that was it. Until now.
Now, at the risk of causing myself a culinary disaster by saying this, I can actually make stuff. Practice does make perfect. And when I find my rechargeable battery gadget for my camera (young miss move to Portugal swears that she hasn’t borrowed it!) I will start showing you some evidence!
I’m not cooking something special every night, just Saturdays, and I’m trying to make it a tradition. TV and computer off. Just us talking and eating.
Now if I could just master the baking……

Ooh, can’t wait to see what you’ve been doing. I’m currently trying to break out of my cooking comfort zone. Re. baking: would you like a really easy (but gorgeous) recipe for cupcakes? I have one in my Hummingbird Bakery cook book. I haven’t put it on the blog because it’s not my recipe but they are really, really good!

Trying hard to break out of my rut. Want to expand to more whole foods, fresh ingredients. Baking is different because of the chemistry involved.
