A few financial updates;

• Our energy company are reducing our monthly direct debit payment from £99 to £72 on the 25th – Happy Christmas!
• I bought an iPhone (yikes!) – It’s taken me 18 months to reach this decision but after my old and falling apart handset finally stopped working this week, I took the plunge into the the world of smart phones. My mobile contract comes to an end this month anyway and although there will be a bump in my monthly charges from £10 to £35 (thank you energy company for covering that cost), the handset didn’t cost me anything. Cost £99 – cashback £109
• We swapped £10 of club card vouchers for £40 of restaurant vouchers
• We increased the mortgage direct debit ready for the January 1st payment

Friday Night Links is a post from: Move to Portugal

Good morning!  Do you have plans today? I have to work for a few hours and then this evening we have family visiting.  Its going to be a pretty quiet weekend on the whole, but exactly how I like it….especially as it looks like it might be the last one until the end of November.  Our months often go like this, lots of quiet, followed by lots of plans. It’s funny how it works out.

Anyway onto the links and our front door, which you can see in the picture above.

Our front door is pretty old and here it is newly painted.  The paint job is great but the old coloured glass is not looking so good.  From the inside it’s beautiful, outside not so much.  However we’re turning the house into a rental so we can’t justify having the glass professionally cleaned, or even replaced…it has to be an improvement we would complete if this was ‘our house’.

I’m dreaming of Lisbon this morning……and how I wish that I lived there now! But patience and focus is the key.  We just have to keep plugging away at our goals and eventually the dream will be a reality.
