August Grocery Challenge

August 2, 2008

in frugal living

Frugal Trenches and Catz have both posted a grocery spending target for August and I thought I would join them. Last month I spent too much again and it’s because I didn’t keep proper track of everything I bought and ignored my meal plan for 10 days, oops! Posting the spending on this blog will make me more accountable.

I’m giving myself a budget of £180. Things are a little different this month, as we have two weeks off work, one of them away. The children are also away for 2 weeks so in theory I should be able to stick to the budget.

I’ve started off today, spending £53.70. I should only need to buy milk during the week.

Sounds like a great goal! Yesterday I was convinced I couldn’t do it, today I’m convinced I can! We can cheer each other on!

Oh good, we can all support each other through this moment of madness! :) I am sure with careful planning we can all do it!

Hi Laura.
As you know, I´m trying to reduce my grocery budget too, but 180 is far too little for us to manage.
I have to do this changes gradually, otherwise my family would complaint, specially my daughter.
Wish you good luck, and I agree with Catz and Frugal trenches said.
Cheers!
