After the holidays…….and a Happy New Year

It comes……and then it goes, so quickly, but I hope that you all had a safe and peaceful holidays.

New Years Day

I fully intended to do a 2012 round-up yesterday, but tiredness got the better of me. I went to work, prepared a buffet (Indian food) for everyone, and then went to sleep about nine. We all did. No rock ‘n roll New Years in this house lol. In fairness my husband and son are both sick so they had an excuse. Me? I was just shattered! :)

So last year. I asked hubby for his personal highlights of 2012 and he came up the same two things that I did: Going to Rome (and in particular seeing the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Square), and attending The Yankees game (we’re both big sports fans). We feel very grateful that we were able to enjoy these experiences in a year that was truly awful for a lot of people.

And this year. My hopes for this year (outside of family), are to move further towards minimalism and mortgage freedom. That’s it. Anything else will be an added bonus.

Things to do this week:

  • Take daughter to the station
  • Take son back to Uni (with food parcel)
  • Pack away the decorations
  • Recycle the cards
  • Thoroughly clean the lounge
  • Thoroughly clean the fridge & the kitchen
  • Avoid the Christmas chocolate

Thank you so much for all of your support in 2012 and I wish you a Very Happy and Peaceful 2013

    Happy New Year Laura!

I really like the idea of a “personal highlights” review. I’ll have to think about that one…
