Adapting our meals

July 6, 2010

in simple living

Since I took the decision to stop eating meat I’ve been slowly learning to adapt the food we eat to take in every one’s taste; I didn’t want to cook different foods every night and I didn’t want to stop the rest of my family eating meat……they like it :-)

Here’s something I made this week, spot the difference {please excuse the photo’s}

Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwiches for family -

Avocado, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwiches for me -

Please also spot my favourite ever find at a car boot sale, new Duralex Glasses; four for 50p, a bargain :-)

You’ll just need to learn how to make eggplant bacon now. ;)

I haven’t tried it, but sure looks tasty!

Like you, I’m vegetarian and the family are not. I never think to buy avocado because I’m not really sure what to do with it. Having it in sandwiches would be a start (I should look up some recipes!)

Your sandwich looks so good! A few years ago I cut out meat for a few months while the family did not. I was never able to do a good job of adapting the same meal so I appreciate the tip.
