In January I posted about how I was trying to adopt the simple health habit of drinking water; well I did it! After persevering, having good and bad days, I’ve finally become a water drinker.
They say it takes 21 days to create a habit and I’d agree; it works. My daily drink intake is now 2 coffee’s before 8am, a glass of fruit juice with breakfast and then 2 litres of water throughout the day. Success!
This now leads me on to creating the next habit, one I’ll readily admit to having no inclination for; exercise.
I really don’t want to do any exercise, but if I want to continue to lose weight and get fitter, then I have to. It’s simple. I need to do it. Don’t get me wrong. I used to love exercise and playing sports. I played hockey and did some sort of sport related activity every day of the week. Every day. I should never of stopped, but I’m not dwelling on that, I just have to start doing something again, today; something simple, like walking, and build from there.
So starting today, and for the next twenty days, I will build another habit, I will walk daily for at least an hour.
I’m determined to do this. Does anyone want to join me?

I’m in! I’ve kicked the soda habbit in the past several weeks and am now just drinking water or iced tea. I’ve got to get my rear in gear and start exercising and get some of this blasted weight off me! I have a long, long way to go to reach my goal but I am going to start!

Actually, I’m trying to exercise every day myself–mostly because it helps me keep the stress levels under control. I’m a better person when I exercise! I love walking, but will get bored if I do it every day, so I intend to also do yoga and head out for the occasional bike ride or swim. (I did a little snow shoeing last week–woo hoo!).

This is one of my March goals.. I want to get in at least 15 days of exercise. Last year I lost 50lbs and need to make sure it doesn’t find me again..
LOL!! Good luck!

Well done! Exercising regularly can become a habit in exactly the same way. I used to belong to a gym and went 3 times a week. When I left I didn’t want all the good work I had done to be wasted so continuted to exercise at home (inside in the winter and out jogging in the summer) on the same days that I went to the gym.

I’m in GIRL! I did this kind of walking in 2003?? and looked and felt my best. Then…I had two babies and I just haven’t gotten back in the groove.
Walking atleast 30 minutes is a good idea…but pushing it up to that hour really drops the pounds. Best of luck – I’ll check back in with you on Sunday.

This year, I started the very good habit of walking daily for 45 mins. Rain or shine.
I have a light waterproof jacket with a hood to wear if it is raining, so I can’t make any excuses.
It has become part of my lifestyle now, and I can’t wait to go for my walk each day.
Good luck with making it part of your lifestyle!

Good luck with this. When I started a regular exercise regime, I found that I had more energy, less back pain and I started to look really good in my favourite jeans. All great incentives for me.
Keep us informed of the progress! Cheers! Cristina
