Now that spring is in the air here in the UK, it seems a good time to sort out all your winter knitwear. I will hardly wear a jumper for the next six months, so I like to store my jumpers away, but you might want to keep yours out, It’s entirely up to you.
To start:
- Gather all your knitwear on the bed
De-Clutter:
- Assess what you have using the following questions:
- When did I last wear it?*
- Does it fit me?
- Does it need repairing?
- Can it be repaired?
- Does it need cleaning?
- Is it bobbly and past its sell by date?
- How many jumpers do I need?
Remove all your items for washing, donating and recycling
Organise:
When you have answered the above questions for every piece, then you are ready to organise
- Sort and fold all your knitwear into two piles: Summer and Winter
- Store your winter knitwear: It’s recommended to use acid free tissue
- Put your folded* summer knitwear back in your drawers/wardrobe
*If you’ve not worn an item for over 12 months, then you’re probably not going to wear it ever again, so I would donate it, if it’s in a good condition
*It’s recommend that knitwear is folded, not hung
