One of my goals for 2009 was to do a four weekly menu plan and stick to it through out the year. This is the current menu plan I’m working to, give or take the odd change. If something is on offer I will buy it and swap a meal.
Some of these meals are for convenience to account for work and activities, and some of the meals are not 100% healthy, although we are working on this. Every week we are moving further towards a better diet.
Week 1:
- Pizza/Salad
- Fish/Veg
- Curry/Rice
- Fajitas
- Quiche/Salad
- Pasta
- Soup/Cheese/Bread
Week 2:
- Pizza/Salad
- Roast Chicken/Veg
- Curry/Rice
- Chicken Kiev/Salad
- Fish/Veg
- Chili/Rice
- Omelette’s/Chips
Week 3:
- Pasta Bake/Salad
- Cheese & Potato Pie
- Curry/Rice
- Fajitas
- Fish/Veg
- Pasta Bolognaise
- Quiche/Salad
Week 4:
- Pizza/Salad
- Fish/Veg
- Curry/Rice
- Steak/Jacket/Salad
- Chicken Kiev/Salad
- Chili/Rice
- Roast Chicken/Veg

I need to do a meal plan. I am so bad about it. Thanks for the reminder.
I used to have a full menu plan set up for a month at a time too but these past 6 weeks my daughter’s been in charge of cooking (I’ve been ill) and because she doesn’t plan, she never has a clue what to make for dinner. Nothing gets taken out of the freezer beforehand and when I do the online shopping she hasn’t a clue what I should order. I suggested I make a plan for her to follow but she insists she likes to do things ‘on the spot. This has really proved to me just how important menu planning is.
Obviously we as a family eat so much better when I menu plan, but I don´t get around to it on a regular enough basis. Thanks for the reminder!
